Gastroenterology Unit is run by Consultants with having expertise and experience in a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions.

Their approach combines meticulous clinical skills with a clear understanding of the benefits and pitfalls of Gl findings. Main standard gastrointestinal investigations are available within the hospital, and in addition, many new techniques and treatments have been pioneered and established in the department.

The Consultants are supported by experienced Specialized Nurses in the field of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, adding an important extra dimension to the support for the individuals attending the service.

A major part of the Department’s work is the provision of endoscopic services, including upper gastrointestinal endoscopy and colonoscopy including their diagnostic and therapeutic procedures such as managing GI bleeding sources and FB extraction. EUS & ERCP services for diagnosis and management of Hepatobiliary & pancreatic diseases such as biliary stones extraction and biliary drainage by stents.

Also we provide the most advanced endoscopic techniques such as endoscopic resection for GI tumors by EMR & ESD and Third space endoscopic procedures such as POEM for managing Achalasia and other esophageal motility disorders.

Specialized clinics are provided for patients with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Celiac disease, GERD & Irritable Bowel Syndromes, also for those requiring parenteral nutrition and specific nutritional programs.
